There are a number of Marks in the 1900 federal census, both with first and last names. As Jesse is frequently short on detail in the early part of his diary, he does not mention that today is his mother’s birthday. Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds Bench was born on this day in 1849. She would have been 52 years old. Today in 2019, she is 170!
