16 — 17th — Helped on the house.
At this point unless a descendant knows anything, this is a bit of a mystery. Is this building a house, or fixing up an old one? Is it one that Jim Bench or someone else just bought, or it is a house already sitting on Jim Bench’s property? Jesse’s daughter writes in the late 1970s that a few years after 1901 is when Jim Bench buys a house for Jesse and Mary. After that, she writes that Jim and his wife buy a townhouse in Utica. John is already living in a separate house on Bench property, and hopefully George DeLapp’s house that he was building last year has long been finished! If anyone knows, please drop us a line!
