31st still raining. Pa & I sorted apples. Geo. & I hauled straw & covered the apples & potatoes in the evening. One of Pa’s cows died yesterday & I went over & skinned her. Pa gave me half what the hide came to which was $1.52.

Plug $1.52 into the inflation calculator, and it says that $1.52 in 1900 has the same spending power as $45.68 in 2018.
