19th, took Bonderers wheat drill home. Drove old Nell & Pete (mule). Nell kicked over the tounge & broke it & jobed the yoke in her breast.

With the exception of two infant graves at Utica Cemetery, all of the Bonderer family members are buried at Saint Columban Catholic Cemetery in Chillicothe, Missouri.  Jesse borrowed a wheat drill from a Bonderer farmer, but we cannot know which one.  He could have been borrowing a wheat drill from the widow Catharine Bonderer, or her son who was renting a farm in Green Township, or possibly J. A. Bonde.

Unfortunately Jesse does not report later how Nell turned out, and he never mentioned her again in his diary.
