25th, made cider. Mary Frazier was here most all day. (P. for M. as she past by) I harrowed in the evening. Jno, Geo., & Walter worked on the corn crib roof.

As noted before, Jesse does not write out opinions or intimate details about much of anything.  Above is one of his few mysterious initials.  Did he just mean “proposed for marriage”?  Or something less exciting, like “praise for Mary”?  Send us your guess!
