4th, Frank & I plowed west of R.R. & then went to Chilli to band concert. Seen Mary & had a big old talk.
Did Jesse see Mary at the band concert, or did he drop in and visit afterwards? What kind of “big old talk” did he have? Did he ask if they could go courting? Did he propose marriage? Seems awful quick for that, but then it was a totally different mentality around marriage back then. Did they see each other at all since the last time he mentioned her? Jesse’s early diary entries are short on the details, and this one is painfully lacking!
