24th, still raining this morning. I didn’t do anything except clean out stables & sleep. Jno went to a party at Cherry’s.  Frank & I didn’t get to go.

Jesse tends to write about just the facts and not his opinion, preference, or judgment.  However, it’s hard to not to wonder if there was disappointment his last line here, and why they did not get to go to the party at the Cherry household.  In 1900 Livingston County, there is one Cherry family in Chillicothe:  Henry, Ellen, Ruby, Bessie, and nephews Charles Cherry and Robert Wheeler.  The other Cherry resident is Claridon Cherry, a boarder in the Long household.
