Mary Elizabeth Foster was born on September 15, 1848, and married Joseph De Lapp (b. March 12, 1844).  Their children were John H., George Augustus, William C., Clyde A., Elmer L., and Marguerite Pearl, called Maggie in Jesse’s diary.  She and Maggie are renting a house in Utica when federal census takers documented them on June 1, 1900.
