Cora Bell Johnson Plaster Terry, 1885 – 1953

Jesse’s cousin Cora Bell Johnson was born on October 7, 1884-or-5, to Isaac Pierce and Levina Tobey Johnson in Plymouth, Carroll County, Missouri. She next shows up in the 1900 federal census as 17 years old and living with her parents in Washington, Carroll County.

On June 23, 1909, Cora married Charles Milford Plaster in Chillicothe (On a side note, the Recorder of Deeds on their marriage certificate was William Reynolds, one of Jesse’s uncles on his mother’s side.) They appear together in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 federal census records. She and her husband are listed in the Kansas City directory in 1930, 1931, and 1932 as living on 814 Jarboe. There were no children listed with them. Then in 1940, Charles Plaster lists himself as divorced and living in Oklahoma as a boarder. On June 1, 1941, Cora married machinist Charles Elmer Terry (b. 1885) in Howell, Missouri. On July 23, 1953, Cora died of breast cancer diagnosed five years before. They were living at 3703 E. 23rd St, Kansas City, Missouri. She was buried in Smith Cemetery in Carroll County. Charles Terry possibly married again and that couple lived in Marshall, Missouri, where he died in 1955. He was buried at Coloma Cemetery in Carroll County.
