Happy birthday James Bench! He turned 57 in 1900, and today he would be 175 years old!
Because of that common gender division of labor, Jesse hardly ever writes about the women-folk and their activities. It would be so nice to know what was on the table for the Thanksgiving dinner, how was everything served up (family style at the table or buffet style on the sideboard?), and how many people were there.
